At Global Rehab & Wellness Inc., our Occupational Therapy (OT) program is dedicated to helping you regain the ability to perform the daily tasks that matter most. Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or navigating cognitive changes, our goal is to help you live life to the fullest.
We begin with an in-depth clinical evaluation of your physical, cognitive, and environmental needs. We don’t just look at the injury; we look at how it impacts your ability to work, care for yourself, and engage in your hobbies. This assessment forms the foundation of your recovery.
We reject the one-size-fits-all model. Your Targeted Treatment Plan is custom-built to address your specific barriers. We select from a variety of evidence-based modalities, including:
Our sessions focus on functional precision. Depending on your goals, we utilize:
At Global Rehab, we treat the body and mind as a whole. Your Occupational Therapy is seamlessly integrated with our other services, such as Physiotherapy and Massage Therapy. This collaborative approach ensures that your physical gains are translated into real-world independence and long-term success.
Our process begins with a comprehensive physical and functional evaluation. We analyze:
We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all solution. Based on your assessment, we coordinate with reputable equipment vendors to provide:
Navigating government paperwork can be overwhelming. As Registered ADP Authorizers, our therapists handle the clinical documentation required to secure your funding. We ensure all forms are completed accurately to maximize your chances of approval.
Once your equipment arrives, we provide a final fitting and training session. We ensure the device is perfectly calibrated to your body and teach you—and your caregivers—how to use the equipment safely and effectively to prevent future injuries.
While both are essential to rehabilitation, the goals differ. Physical Therapy focuses on physical movement and gross motor skills. Occupational Therapy (OT) focuses on Functional Independence—the ability to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, bathing, and driving. Our Registered Occupational Therapists bridge the gap between physical recovery and returning to your normal daily routine.
Yes. Most Extended Health Care (EHC) plans in Ontario provide coverage for Occupational Therapy. We also specialize in Direct Billing for Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims and WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) cases. If you are looking for a rehab clinic that handles the paperwork for your workplace injury or car accident claim, Global Rehab is here to help.
In Ontario, you have direct access to a Registered Occupational Therapist (OT Reg. (Ont.)), meaning a physician’s referral is not legally required. However, for insurance reimbursement or specific ADP (Assistive Devices Program) funding, some providers may request a note from your family doctor. We recommend checking your specific policy before your initial functional assessment.
Absolutely. At Global Rehab, we provide specialized Cognitive Rehabilitation for Post-Concussion Syndrome and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI). Our therapists focus on executive functioning, memory strategies, and sensory processing to help you return to work or school safely without symptom flare-ups.
The Assistive Devices Program (ADP) is an Ontario Ministry of Health initiative. As Registered ADP Authorizers, our OTs conduct seating and mobility assessments to determine your need for a walker, manual wheelchair, or power wheelchair. We help you access government funding that typically covers 75% of the equipment cost.
Our Work Hardening and Ergonomic Assessments are designed to facilitate a safe return to employment. We analyze your job demands and provide Workplace Modifications and Adaptive Equipment recommendations. This ensures you can perform your duties efficiently while preventing repetitive strain injuries or re-injury.
